1. Add a few drops to bath water for relaxation
2. Apply to pillow and bottom of feet for a restful night's sleep 3. Combine a few drops lavender with water in a spray bottle to freshen a room or throw pillows 4. Soothes skin irritations 5. Apply to back of neck and pulse points to ease feelings of tension 6. Use in cooking to add a flavourful twist to marinades and desserts doTerra's Lavender essential oil is one of my go to's for any skin irritation. It can quickly relieve my skin if I accidentally touch a hot pot while cooking. After sitting by a bonfire and hearing the high pitched hum of mosquitoes and subsequently experiencing their annoying bites, I use lavender to calm the skin afterwards. A diffuser is wonderful way to experience the calming effects of lavender oil. A cool air diffuser will send a gentle mist into the air of water and 4 drops of essential oil, lightly scenting the room. They come in different models, and some will run for 8 hours; my preference when used in the bedroom to receive the benefits while I sleep. Why should or would someone hire a life coach? Well, why would anyone purchase the services of a personal trainer, and interior designer or a sports coach - any professional "assistant" for that matter? After all, we all know how to exercise, how to hang a curtain and how to play our own game. But we hire a professional because we know that they will hold us accountable on our goals and objectives - and since we're paying good money for them to be there, often whether we show up or not, we have an added incentive to do so ourselves. We also understand that even though our knowledge of what we're doing may be strong, a professional always has tips, tools and tricks at their disposal which can save us time, aggravation and money. And we get that even the best of best can't "see themselves" from the outside and don't have the objective standpoint about their skills and abilities that a trained and experienced professional can bring to bear on any given situation. Just as a top-notch athlete can benefit from the instruction and observations from an outside source (even a source whose skill does not match that of the athlete's), so can many individuals benefit from an objective, trained and focused viewpoint to help with the issues in their lives. Most people are "too close to the forest to see the trees" in their own life to make these sorts of changes or improvements themselves, or even realize that such change is possible. Factors such as inertia, pre-programmed or biased thinking about our options and potential, unfamiliarity with opportunities or alternatives outside our normal scope of experience, etc., also make even the smallest changes difficult, if not impossible. How much harder then is it to make drastic, sweeping changes such as reorienting our life purpose, turning a business around or chasing after a long-held dream? A coach does not have the same limited views about the client's life that the client does, and so can offer insight, ideas, frameworks, paradigms and resources that the client simply doesn't have access to. Coaches create a safe zone within which the client can explore new ideas, try out new directions, and discuss problems and concerns without fear of judgment or criticism, while at the same time providing support systems that enable the client to move forward at whatever pace the client desires. Life and personal coaching is for anyone who wants: change, joy, a new outlook on life, a better version of the old outlook on life, skill improvement, access to life-improvement resources and tools, a new career, a new life, renewed enthusiasm for their current life, adventure, energy, a sense of freedom, help finding a new direction, help dealing with their current direction, more fun, help setting up systems to support their goals and dreams and many other such quality of life improvements. If that describes you, then why not give it a try? The worst you could do is nothing at all. We seldom find real, authentic joy in the world around us – there’s always something seemingly more important catching our attention. Luckily enough, there are ways through which we can detach ourselves from modern times, step back and enjoy the simpler things life. And when it comes to natural mood enhancers, nothing says ‘relaxation’ better than a bit of aromatherapy with the doTerra essential oils.
How Can doTerra Essential Oils Help You? Citrus Bliss, Ylang Ylang and Bergamot and many other available essential oils can be used for a variety of purposes. From the obvious aromatherapy which will induce a soothing, relaxing, serene and often meditative feel to any room, to heavenly massages through AromaTouch therapies. Empowered! Fulfilled! Happy! New Directions! Life Purpose!
Do these words resonate with you? Would you like them to? I know I hit a stage when I was in my mid-thirties that I was seeking more, and not quite sure where to look. I had some mini spiritual insights, but was very much living in my head; doing the daily grind along with everyone else. I was successful at my Graphic Design job, kept up with fitness, had a social life... and at the end of the day, I would sometimes ask "Is this it?" I was starting to question my Purpose, MY WHY, feeling like there was something I didn't yet know. The answer is inside you, and if you stop long enough, breathe, allow yourself to follow the energy, you will be guided to what is true for you. Getting grounded can aid in opening up your spiritual self. Take some time in the forest (my personal favourite), and hug a tree. Don't worry what other's may think. This is your time, to stop, to feel, to BE. From this space of openness and love, ask the universe to show you what your Purpose is. Keep a journal of insights. Everytime you have an inspirational idea, jot it down. You may find a new path, and find something that lights you up. If a "coincidence" happens, write it down. Those coincidences are your intuition guiding you, and will be a real gift to you on your journey. I would love to hear how things are for you, please share this blog and post a comment! Namaste, Lisa We are mid winter (pretty mild so far!) and myself and others I know have gotten a tickle in the throat. A tickle in the throat can be caused by many things, which can lead up to feeling unwell. If treated early using natural remedies, you can cut down your risk of a long drawn out case of sniffles by more than half.
Try these to help soothe your throat: GARGLE WITH WARM SALT WATER According to Dr. Segal-Maurer, "You’re creating a high-salt barrier and you’re pulling out a lot of fluids from the tissues in the throat area, so you’re washing the crap out." ADD ONE DROP OIL OF OREGANO TO WATER, GARGLE & SWALLOW Oil of Oregano can help support your body when used 2 to 4 x daily. DRINK A DROP OF LEMON AND PROTECTIVE BLEND ESSENTIAL OIL IN WATER Just like Oil of Oregano, there are other essential oils that can help support the body against seasonal threats. Not all essential oils are the same and many contain fillers, so please make sure you purchase a Pure Therapeutic grade that will guarantee their purity and potency.
